Vegetable shortening is a commonly used ingredient in soap-making recipes, but because vegetable shortening can be made from many and varied oils, there's no way of knowing a precise SAP value. To overcome this, we stock a form of vegetable shortening that's 100% derived from Palm Kernel Oil so a precise SAP value is known. Branded as SILC-90, this product is more usually supplied as a cocoa butter alternative for ice cream manufacture.
