| Extended Information | Dissolves in water giving a bright red (orange/red) colour. Stable in cold process soap (alkali) as well as acidic conditions so is good for most cosmetic products. A little goes a long way. Picture is of product diluted in water which is how it is intended to be used. To make a concentrate use at approximate maximum of 5% by weight in 95% water. Full description... Azorubine, carmoisine, Red 3, Azorubin S, Brillantcarmoisin O, Acid Red 14, or C.I. 14720 is a synthetic red dye from the azo dye group. It usually comes as a disodium salt. It is a red to maroon powder. It has E number E122. When sold as a food dye some of the foods it can be present in are blancmange, marzipan, Swiss roll, jams, preserves, yoghurts, jellies, breadcrumbs, and cheesecake mixes. It is also often present in Mouthwash. |

The strength of colour obtained from any dye or pigment is dependent upon the concentration used.
